Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you're not sure what to expect. Here are answers to some commonly asked questions.
Free 20-minute consultation
Finding a therapist you truly connect with makes all the difference. This is a space to ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and see if it feels right. No pressure, no commitment.
First session
Our first session is about getting to know you — where you've been, where you are, and where you'd like to go.
The Work
We work together in weekly 50-minute sessions, at a pace that feels right for you. Treatment goals are collaborative — something we shape, revisit, and refine together over time.

Session fees
Sliding scale spots may be available upon request. I'm happy to discuss this during our free consultation — cost shouldn't be the thing that stops you from getting support.

Do you offer telehealth?
Yes — I offer both in-person sessions in Bellingham and telehealth sessions for anyone in Washington state. We can talk about what works best for you.
How long does therapy usually take?
It depends on what you're working through. Some people come for a focused stretch of a few months; others prefer longer-term support. We'll check in regularly about how things are going.
What if I've never done therapy before?
That's completely okay. A lot of people come to me having never talked to a therapist. The first session is just a conversation — there's no script you have to follow.
What if I'm not sure therapy is right for me?
That's exactly what the free consultation is for. You don't have to commit to anything — just come with your questions and see how it feels.
Do you only work with certain issues?
I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions — including work with adult children of emotionally immature parents. If you're not sure whether your situation fits, reach out and we'll figure it out together.
